Former Acting State Inspector General and long-time environmental advocate Robyn Adair announced today the launch of a risk management and legal services firm catering to clients in both the public and private sector. Adair spent nearly two decades in New York State government with recent positions in its Executive Chamber and leading the State Inspector General's Office during the pandemic. While in the Governor's Office, she worked with partner agencies to identify, prioritize and mitigate various types of internal and external risks.
Adair's firm, The Dirigo Group, LLC, will initially focus on providing legal and practical solutions to clients in the environmental, food and beverage and general business sectors. The firm is looking to grow operations this year by hiring additional staff and expanding its practice areas.
Adair emphasized the importance of organizations implementing a strong risk management program, "Internal controls and compliance are the backbone of any organization. It's not the sexiest of subjects, but vital to the growth and evolution of both government and business."
